We Are Family!

First and foremost, at Family First K9, we are a family.  What started out as a hobby years ago, has turned into a first class business driven by our passions for dog training and competition.  Our goal is to pass on our positive obedience training methods, as well as our enjoyment for dog sports, to others. We offer many services including our puppy school class, basic and advanced obedience training, protection sports (PSA, American Schutzhund and more), scent work and professional detection/tracking dogs.

Experience

As man’s best friend, furry friends have become an important extension of our daily lives, particularly our families. Knowing how to handle them helps establish a fruitful relationship where desired objectives can then be easily met. This is where I come in, to help you lead a successful and peaceful life with your furry family member.

For the past decade, I have been serving the Owensboro, Henderson, and Madisonville areas by offering a wide spectrum of services that cater to dog boarding and pet training, all within a positive atmosphere. With 19 years of law enforcement experience, I am well versed in training K9s in tracking, detection, and working personal protection dogs.  I also provide training in the sports of Schutzhund, PSA, WDA, and Scent Work. This has allowed me to be aware and prepared for almost any scenario that may arise. My promise is to continue to train and educate in the most modern and positive methods available through competing with colleagues and constantly attending seminars.

My other qualifications include: AKC CGC Evaluator, AKC Scent Work Judge, NACSW Judge, CPE CSS Judge, and Drugbeat Evaluator, where I certify professional K9 teams. I have also been fortunate enough to train with some of the best in the industry such as Gene England, Joey Leigh, Randy Hare, and KAS Flavio Falcao. I currently hold a bachelor’s in Criminal Justice/ Minor Psychology from the Murray State University and a Masters in Criminal Justice Administration from Bethel University.  We believe that our furry friends are an important part of our family!
